Amit Bachchan & Rishi Kapoor to Reunite after 26 Years
There is nothing can be more cherishing for Hindi cinema lovers, that the megastar Amitabh Bachchan and past time heartthrob Rishi Kapoor are coming together in a film, titled as ‘102 Not Out’. Based on the Gujarati play written by Saumya Joshi of same title, this forthcoming adaptation is a drama film and being directed by Umesh Shukla.
In the film, Amitabh Bachchan is essaying the role of a 102-year-old father, while Rishi Kapoor is playing the role of his 75-year-old son. Story of ‘102 Not Out’ revolves around the character which is being played by Big B, who is trying to break the record of world’s oldest person.
To express his excitement, actor Rishi Kapoor took to Twitter to share a picture of him with Big B and captioned it, “Wonderful to work again with the Legendary Amitabh Bachchan. Thank you Amitji, it never felt the 26 years old hiatus. We connected instantly!”.
Umesh Shukla’s directorial bringing the stars together after a long gap of 26 years, last they shared the screen with each other in 1991’s Ajooba. The shooting of ‘102 Not Out’ started this week on Wednesday, 17 May in Mumbai and will continue till the end of this month. Then it’s next schedule will be commenced in July.
Regarding the same, the director said, “Amit ji and Rishi ji are collaborating after 26 years. They are playing Gujarati characters for the first time. Being a Gujarati myself, I had certain references in my mind which we used to create their look,”.
