Superstar Akshay Kumar’s upcoming drama film Padman once again hit the headlines with it’s first look poster and final release date. Since the time of announcement, the film is buzzing among fans loudly and all were excitedly looking for further updates about it from the producers’ desk.
On August 3, the former Bollywood actress turned writer-producer Twinkle Khanna took to twitter to share the first look poster and release date of her debut production venture. She captioned the picture, “Pad-up and get ready for MrsFunnybones Movies and R. Balki’s Padman -April 13,2018” (later it got preponed to 26 January 2018).
The first look poster of Padman features film’s official logo, release date and cheerful Akshay Kumar riding a bicycle with both hands raised in air. Directed by R. Balki, the film is inspired by the true story of Arunachalam Muruganantham, the man who decided to crack the process of making sanitary pads in order to sell them in cheaper and reasonable rates.
Padman deals with the attempt of Muruganantham to improve hygienic conditions for women in his village who couldn’t afford high priced pads. June 2017 released film Phullu starring Sharib Hashmi was also inspired by the same story, but unfortunately it got failed to even make audience aware about it’s release.
Alongside Akshay, Padman starring Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in lead roles. Produced by Twinkle Khanna’s MrsFunnyBones Movies in association with Prernaa Arora’s KriArj Entertainment, it is slated to be released next year on January 26.
Currently Akshay Kumar is gearing up for his forthcoming Toilet Ek Prem Katha which is all set to hit theaters just before Independence Day, on August 11 and featuring Bhumi Pednekar opposite to him.
