Hindi Medium Emerges as Year’s 5th Indian Film to Gross over 100 Crore Worldwide
Showing the power of good content and acting, Irrfan Khan and Saba Qamar starrer Hindi Medium has grossed over 100 crore worldwide in one month of release at box office. Meanwhile number of new Hindi offerings came in it’s way, but it surprisingly dominated all and still heading decently.
Directed by Saket Chaudhary, Hindi Medium has a relevant concept why English language has become prior to Indian over Hindi?. The movie impressed all the viewers and received very positive reviews from critics, which generated positive word of mouth for it.
In last four weeks, this comedy drama remained steady throughout and did the impressive business of 65.01 crores at domestic box office with 25.21 crore in first week, 20.88 crores in second, 12.57 crores in third and 6.35 crores in the fourth.
Now Hindi Medium is running in it’s fifth week and once again cashed the weekend thoroughly despite new releases. In the fifth weekend, it fetched the amount of 2.45 crores, that included 0.65 crore of Friday, 1.01 crore of Saturday and 0.79 crore of Sunday.
After 31 days (one month) of release, total collection of Irrfan starrer recorded as 67.46 crores nett i.e. 93.69 crores gross. From overseas market too, the movie reported good performance and raked approximately 12.97 crores gross from there till 5th weekend.
With this, at worldwide box office Hindi Medium has grossed 106.66 crores and emerged as the fifth Indian movie of the year to gross over 100 crore globally after Raees (281.44 crores), Jolly LLB 2 (193.95 crores), Badrinath Ki Dulhania (200.34 crores) and Kaabil (177.72 crores).
