After an under-performed opening week, last week released Tiger Shroff, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Nidhhi Agerwal starrer Munna Michael crashed badly in the second weekend and raked lesser business than the lesser buzzed adjacent film Lipstick Under My Burkha.
Being India’s first action-dance film, Munna Michael had pre-release decent buzz among fans as well as moviegoers, but unfortunately received mixed reviews and as a result got failed to remain steady throughout.
In the opening week, Sabbir Khan’s directorial did the business of 31.62 crores, that included 21.67 crores of weekend and 9.95 crores of weekdays from 3000 screens across India.
Now Munna Michael is running in it’s second week and was expected to do atleast an average business in the weekend. But it witnessed abrupt drop in footfalls and minted the amount of 0.38 crore with 80% of dip than the previous day.
Then with little growth, Tiger Shroff-Sabbir Khan’s third collaboration raked the business of 0.46 crore on Saturday and 0.52 crore on Sunday. With this, total 10 days collection of Munna Michael has become 32.98 crores.
While on the other hands, black drama Lipstick Under My Burkha was released on a small scale but received positive reviews from most of the critics. In the opening week, it did the business of 10.96 crores that included 5.80 crores of weekend and 5.16 crores of weekdays from 400 screens.
Then in the second weekend too, Alankrita Shrivastava’s directorial remained steady despite new offerings Mubarakan, Indu Sarkar & Raag Desh and minted the amount of 0.94 crore on 2nd Friday. With decent growth, it raked 1.37 crore on Saturday and 1.45 crore on Sunday.
After 10 days of release, total collection of Lipstick Under My Burkha is recorded as 14.72 crores. It is expected to have decent hold for the whole second week.
