The third collaboration of superstar Salman Khan and Kabir khan, Tubelight unfortunately got failed to perform as per expectations. Unlike their previous films Ek Tha Tiger and Bajrangi Bhaijaan, the latest one disappointed everyone including fans and crashed down too early at box office.
Last week released this war drama has had huge pre-release hype among fans as well as audience, even though it got lower footfalls in theaters. Also it received mixed reviews from critics, that has resulted in negative for the film.
Although Tubelight registered the second biggest opening of the year in Hindi cinema with 21.15 crores, but due to cold reviews it remained almost flat over the weekend and dropped abruptly in weekdays. In the opening week, the film fetched the amount of 106.86 crores, that included 64.77 crores of weekend and 42.09 crores of weekdays from 4350 screens.
Now Salman Khan and Chinese actress Zhu Zhu starrer is running in it’s second week and getting lesser response than before. On a dull note, Tubelight did the business of 8.25 crores in the second weekend, that included 2.15 crores of Friday, 2.80 crores of Saturday and 3.30 crores of Sunday.
Then in weekdays, with further drops Kabir Khan’s directorial managed to collect the amount of 1.15 crore on 2nd Monday. On the next day i.e. Tuesday, Tubelight managed to collect 0.95 crore and raised it’s 12 days total collection to 117.21 crores at domestic box office.
From overseas market, the film has grossed around 44.50 crores so far and made it’s worldwide box office collection as 207.29 crores (gross) including 162.79 crores gross business from India.
