Couple of weeks back released Varun Dhawan starrer Judwaa 2 has registered an excellent performance at box office so far. Surprisingly despite getting mixed reviews from critics as well as audience, it remained strong throughout and emerged as fourth highest grossing Hindi movie of the year.
Starring Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee in lead roles alongside Varun, Judwaa 2 is the official remake of 1997’s Salman Khan starrer Judwaa. Directed by the same personality i.e. David Dhawan, the new version successfully ended the long dry spell of box office.
In the first week, this action comedy reported fourth highest opening and remained strong afterward. It did the business of total 98.08 crores, that included 59.25 crores of weekend and 38.83 crores of weekdays from more than 3500 screens across the country.
In the second weekend too, Judwaa 2 got good response despite having Chef and other new arrivals in opposite and raked the business of 18.10 crores including 4.25 crores of Friday, 5.75 crores of Saturday and 8.10 crores of Sunday. After 10 days of release, total collection of the movie was recorded as 116.18 crores.
Then in weekdays it dropped by some rate but still remained steady and minted 2.91 crores on 2nd Monday, 2.25 crores on 2nd Tuesday and 2.25 crores on 2nd Wednesday. On the next day i.e. 2nd Thursday, with further drop Judwaa 2 collected 2.05 crore and raised it’s 2 weeks total collection to 125.84 crores at domestic box office.
