The much awaited remake of 1997’s Salman Khan starrer Judwaa, Judwaa 2 has completed it’s half-a-month journey at box office on a superb note. Despite mixed reviews of critics, the film has got excellent response in early weeks at domestic box office and still has enough hold over the audience.
Directed by David Dhawan, this action comedy got failed to satisfy critics thoroughly but audience found it entertaining and showed thumbs up. Starring Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu, Judwaa 2 has already emerged as superhit and become fourth highest grossing movie of the year in Hindi cinema.
After a solid opening, Sajid Nadiadwala’s production remained strong and did the business of 98.08 crores, that included 59.25 crores of weekend and 38.83 crores of weekdays from more than 3500 screens across the country.
Then in the second week as well, Judwaa 2 witnessed good response despite having Chef and other new offerings in opposite. It raked the business of 27.76 crores, that included 18.10 crores of weekend and 9.66 crores of weekdays. After 2 weeks, total collection of the film was recorded as 125.84 crores.
Now Varun Dhawan starrer has been entered in the third week and has no new big film in opposite. So it has a good chance to show it’s potential in the third weekend also. On 3rd Friday, Judwaa 2 faced 16.1% of drop than previous day and minted 1.72 crore.
With this, it’s 15 days total collection has become 127.56 domestically. As per current trend, Judwaa 2 seems to surpass the lifetime total of Akshay Kumar’s Toilet Ek Prem Katha (134.22 crores) by this week.
