Couple of weeks back released, superstar Salman Khan starrer highly buzzed Tubelight has crashed down too early at box office and now ready to end up it’s run by third week only. Due to mixed reviews from most of the critics as well as audience, it got failed to remain steady and lost all it’s hold.
Directed by Kabir Khan, Tubelight set against the backdrop of Sino-Indian war during 1962. It is completely opposite to Salman’s usual offerings, has no masala and this is why viewers haven’t found it entertaining. Along with Salman, it stars Sohail Khan, Chinese actress Zhu Zhu, Matin Rey Tangu, late Om Puri, Isha Talwar and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub.
After registering second biggest opening of the year so far after Baahubali 2 Hindi (41 crores), Tubelight didn’t show any considerable growth over the weekend and on Eid. With abrupt drops in weekdays, it fetched the business of 106.86 crores in the opening week, that included 64.77 crores of weekend and 42.09 crores of weekdays from around 4400 screens across the country.
Although the collection of it’s first week is good enough but disappointing in comparison to earlier expectations and Salman Khan’s solid stardom. Then in the second week, this war drama witnessed more drops and raked the business of 11.65 crores with 8.25 crores in weekend and 3.40 crores in weekdays.
After 2 weeks, total collection of Tubelight was recorded as 118.51 crores at domestic box office. Now the movie has been entered in it’s third weekend, and due to new offerings like Mom, Guest Iin London and Spider Man Homecoming, there is no chance left for it to add considerable business figures to it’s account.
On 3rd Friday, Tubelight faced heavy drop than previous day and minted the amount of 0.14 crore. With this, the total 15 days collection of the movie has become 118.65 crores. With current scenario, it doesn’t seem to rake over 125 crores in lifetime.
