Salman Khan starrer Tubelight was released couple of weeks back with immense excitement of fans as well as moviegoers. Unfortunately it hasn’t received favorable reviews from most of the viewers and crashed down too early at box office. Now with the release of several new offerings, it has become more difficult for it to survive.
Being pre Eid release, Kabir Khan’s directorial registered lower opening than expected, as the Muslim fans of Salman were not able to watch the movie during Ramzaan. Also the mixed reviews from critics, made it to remain almost flat over the weekend.
Then in weekdays, Tubelight faced abrupt drops and fetched the total amount of 106.86 crores in a week from around 4400 screens nationwide, that included 64.77 crores of weekend and 42.09 crores of weekdays.
Following the same regressive pattern, this war drama witnessed more drops in the second week and raked the business of only 11.65 crores with 8.25 crores in weekend and 3.40 crores in weekdays. After two weeks, total domestic collection of Tubelight was recorded as 118.51 crores.
Now it is running in the third week and passed this weekend on a dull note. With further drops, Kabir & Salman’s third collaboration garnered the business of 0.14 crore on Friday, 0.16 crore on Saturday and 0.18 crore on Sunday.
With this, total collection of Tubelight after the third weekend has become 118.99 crores at domestic box office. Now the movie doesn’t look to even touch the mark of 125 crores in it’s lifetime.
