‘The Angry Birds Movie’ Rules over Box Office this Week

This week, number of movies have released on Indian box office but only few are getting audience. The strongest one is, 3D animation action-adventure movie The Angry Birds Movie, which is already very popular among people because of video game series with the same title. This one is buzzing from last year in India and has good hype among kids as well as teenagers.

The Angry Birds Movie is also getting positive reviews from critics across the globe, which has generated good word of mouth about it. After seeing the outstanding performance of Kung Fu Panda 3 & The Jungle Book, this one is also expected to get well on box office. As per the reports so far, everyone liked the movie and found it very entertaining.

On the opening day, The Angry Birds Movie has reported decent occupancy across the country and minted the amount of 2.20 crores. The major contribution is of course made by metro cities and because of positive response, a decent growth is expected in its business on Saturday & Sunday.

There is one more English movie – Alice Through The Looking Glass has released on limited number of screens, which has reported below average response due to less promotions. It has minted nearly 0.35 crore* on the first day at Indian box office. Opposite to them, Hindi movies- Veerappan, Phobia & Waiting have also hit the screens this Friday and getting favorable reviews from critics.

Among these three only Veerappan is getting considerable response at box office. On the opening day, Ram Gopal Varma’s directorial Veerappan has reported almost average response but higher than rest two. It has minted the amount of 1.79 crore on Friday with 10-15% occupancy across the country.

Whereas, Radhika Apte starrer Phobia stands at second position and minted the amount of 0.25 crore. Naseeruddin Shah & Kalki Koechlin starrer Waiting has raked only 0.27 crore on the opening day.
