1st Day Collection of Toilet Ek Prem Katha TEPK, Akshay-Bhumi Starrer takes 6th Highest Opening of 2017

Year’s one of the most anticipated movies Toilet Ek Prem Katha has been released this Friday with huge excitement of fans and moviegoers. As expected the movie opened up on a good note and getting positive reviews from most of the critics as well as audience for it’s solid content and brilliant performances by all the actors.

Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, Toilet Ek Prem Katha is a romantic social drama starring superstar Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar in lead roles. It’s a satirical take against the age-old tradition of defecation in open. As title suggests, TEPK is an unusual love story which is incomplete without a toilet.

As per critics, Akshay-Bhumi starrer is quite entertaining despite a little long run-time and also delivers a strong social message. Both the actors have given brilliant performances and deserve huge applause for their work in the movie. “TEPK is another winner from the hit machine Akshay Kumar“.

On the opening day, Toilet Ek Prem Katha recorded decent occupancy of 20-25% for morning shows and witnessed fair growth over the evening & night shows due to positive word of mouth. With overall 35-40% of occupancy on around 3000 screens in India, it has garnered the business of 13.10 crores which is as expected.

With this, TEPK has emerged as the 6th highest opener of the year so far in Hindi cinema followed by Badrinath Ki Dulhania and 9th highest of Akshay’s career. Being a village story Toilet Ek Prem Katha has witnessed decent response from metro cities on Friday but expected to take good jump over the weekend, as public reactions are coming in favor.
