First Day Collection of War For The Planet Of The Apes

Third installment of the critically acclaimed blockbuster American franchise that was began in 2011 with Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes, is getting rave reviews across the globe. Despite having much awaited Hind offering Jagga Jasoos in opposite, War For The Planet Of The Apes got released with much buzz among Indian audience as well.

As per critics, Matt Reeves’ directorial this sci-fi adventure drama is an epic and immensely thrilling flick, that keeps the faith of fans alive towards the franchise. While audience found it outstanding and showed big thumbs up for the movie.

On July 14, War For The Planet Of The Apes has been released in India beside US and received very positive reviews from critics as well as audience. Despite the positive reactions, this American offering diverted minor segment of audience towards itself and registered an average opening business.

In metro cities, the movie recorded 20% of occupancy on Friday, while Ranbir-Katrina’s Jagga Jasoos got 25-30% on 1800 screens. After an average start in morning, War For The Planet Of The Apes remained steady throughout the opening day and garnered the business of 2.20 crores nett from 1000 screens including English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu versions.

While last week released, Hollywood’s Spider Man Homecoming fetched the business of 7.20 crores on it’s opening day and 2.16 crores on Thursday with paid previews post 6 pm. Because of good word of mouth, War For The Planet Of The Apes seems to take good jump over the weekend and give strong competition to Jagga Jasoos at Indian box office.
