1st Weekend Total: ‘Welcome Back’ 3rd Day Collection – Crosses 50 Cr in India

Welcome Back, the latest installment of movie 2007’s very entertaining movie Welcome has completed the journey of its first weekend at box office. The movie was released this Friday on approximately 3200 screens in India. It has received mixed reviews from critics but audience find its very entertaining and hilarious. Yeah, music & script of the movie disappoints you but overall Welcome Back is a good movie to laugh in your spare time.

This time audience missing their favorite Akshay Kumar but his absence is not effecting much. Because the funny dialogues of Anil Kapoor aka Majnu Bhai & Nana Patekar aka Uday Shetty doesn’t let you do anything except laughing till the end. They both are the gems of the movie, performance amazingly well. The lead couple John Abraham & Shruti Haasan also performed their part very well.

Before release the sequel was expected to take normal start as audience were not happy with the absence of Akshay in the movie. But it started on an excellent not and registered the Bollywood’s third highest opening of year 2015 so far. On Friday, Welcome Back recorded the overall occupancy of 65% on Indian screens and minted 14.35 crores as its first day collection.

On Saturday being the weekend and also the holiday on accounts of Krishna Janmashtami & Teacher’s Day, the movie showed handsome growth in its business and made the collection of 17.05 crores. On the main day of weekend i.e. Sunday, it witnessed slightly higher occupancy and has registered the amount of 19.60 crores as its 3rd day collection. Till the end of the weekend, the total domestic collection of Welcome Back is recorded as 51 crores.

1. Welcome Back was garnered 8 crores on Thursday & Friday in Overseas.
2. In first two days the total collection of the movie in Pakistan was 3.4 crores, witnessed wonderful response there.
