Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu starrer recent Hindi offering Judwaa 2 has completed it’s 3 weeks journey at box office on an overall excellent note. Despite mixed critics reviews, the movie showed terrific performance and also ended the long dry spell of box office.
Within 17 days of release, the official remake of 1997’s Judwaa had emerged third highest grossing movie of the year in Hindi cinema by surpassing the lifetime total of superstar Akshay Kumar’s Toilet Ek Prem Katha. Now it is all set to dominate Shahrukh’s Raees as well and to become second highest grosser after Baahubali 2.
In the opening week, Judwaa 2 started the journey on a solid note and did the business of total 98.08 crores that included 59.25 crores of weekend and 38.83 crores of weekdays from more than 3500 screens across the country.
In the second week, despite number of new offerings David Dhawan’s directorial reported good business and bagged the amount of 27.76 crores, with 18.10 crores of weekend and 9.66 crores of weekdays.
Then in the third weekend as well, Judwaa 2 raked good amount of 7.19 crores that included 1.72 crore of Friday, 2.65 crores of Saturday and 2.82 crores of Sunday. After 17 days total collection of the movie was recorded as 133.03 crores.
Now Sajid Nadiadwala’s presentation is running in weekdays once again and on a steady note minted the amount of 1.25 crore of Monday, 1.10 crore of Tuesday and 0.95 crore on Wednesday. On the next day i.e. Thursday, it collected 0.85 crore and raised it’s 3 weeks collection to 137.18 crores at domestic box office.
