Three weeks back released the highly awaited film of superstar Salman Khan, Tubelight has got failed to take box office by storm. Unfortunately the film which was strongly buzzing among moviegoers from a long time, actually got unfavorable reviews from most of the critics as well as audience after the release.
After the earth shattering performance of SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2, fans and trade analysts were showing huge expectations for Tubelight. But in actually, this war drama is getting collapsed below the 120 crores mark at domestic box office.
After an under-performed opening week, Kabir Khan’s directorial faced abrupt drop in it’s footfalls due to complete denial of audience. Now it is running in the fourth week with limited screens and occupancy across the country.
On it’s 4th Friday, Tubelight witnessed further dip than previous day and raked the business of only 0.01 crore. With slight growth due to weekend, it managed to collect the amount of 0.02 crore on Saturday. On Sunday despite being public holiday, the film added the same 0.02 crore to it’s account.
In the opening week, Salman Khan & Kabir Khan’s latest collaboration recorded lower response than expected and fetched the business of 106.86 crores, that included 64.77 crores of weekend and 42.09 crores of weekdays from around 4400 screens.
In the second week, Tubelight recorded heavy drop in it’s footfalls and collected the amount of 11.65 crores with 8.25 crores in weekend and 3.40 crores in weekdays. Then in third week, with further drop, it added only 0.68 crore to it’s account with 0.48 crore in weekend and 0.20 crore in weekdays.
With this, total collection of Tubelight after fourth weekend is set to become 119.24 crores. Now it doesn’t seem possible for the film to even touch 120 crores nett. mark domestically. At worldwide box office, Salman Khan starrer has grossed near 212 crores so far.
