The Jungle Book has Started with 2nd Highest Opening of 2016 so far
This week the very much anticipated movie from Hollywood, ‘The Jungle Book’ hit theaters a week before in India than its US release. The movie had good pre-release hype among audience due to the heavy promotions and also the association of Indian actors with it. It has released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions along with the original English one in 2D and 3D formats. For its Hindi version, voices of characters are given by well known Bollywood faces like Priyanka Chopra, Irrfan Khan, Nana Patekar, Shefali Shah etc.
‘The Jungle Book‘ has received very positive reviews from critics as well as moviegoers, which has created a favorable environment for it on box office and attracts more audience towards theater. On its opening day, it has minted the amount of 10.09 cr with overall 50% of occupancy across the country and dominated the opening record of ‘Batman Vs Superman: Dawn of Justice’.
With this figure, it has also emerged as second highest opener of 2016 so far after superstar Akshay Kumar’s ‘Airlift’. On the next day i.e. Saturday, it witnessed higher response than Friday due to being partial holiday and raked the business of 13.51 cr as its second day collection. Not only kids but all ages are enjoying the movie and that is the reason ‘The Jungle Book’ is doing so impressive.
There is another movie in parallel to it, Hindi urban thriller ‘Love Games’ which has taken a dull start at box office on Friday. This Vikram Bhatt’s directorial did the business of only 1.03 cr on its opening day. On Saturday, despite weekend it has not reported any growth in its business and minted the amount of 1.01 cr. Last week released ‘Ki and Ka’ has recorded far better response than it.
