Once again Hollywood movie is dominating all the adjacent Hindi ones at Indian box office. Yes we are talking about the new installment from the popular American horror franchise The Conjuring, Annabelle: Creation which is getting response from Indian audience than newly released Bareilly Ki Barfi, Partition 1947 (Hindi) and VIP 2 Lalkar (Hindi).
Directed by David F. Sandberg prequel to 2014’s Annabelle, Annabelle Creation is being liked by the audience as well as critics. On the opening it did the business of 4.50 crores in India from English, Hindi, Tamil & Telugu versions plus 2.75 crores with it’s paid previews on Tuesday to Thursday. On Saturday, the movie raked the business of 7 crores with decent jump and raised it’s 2 days total to 14.25 crores.
On the other hand, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari’s directorial romantic comedy Bareilly Ki Barfi is getting mixed response from the audience as well as critics. Kriti Sanon, Ayushmann Khurrana and Rajkummar Rao starrer this movie opened up on a slow note and minted 2.42 crores on Friday.
On Saturday despite Annabelle Creation and last week’s Toilet Ek Prem Katha, Bareilly Ki Barfi witnessed decent growth and garnered the business of 3.85 crores and made it’s 2 days domestic total as 6.27 crores.
While the Hindi version of Hugh Bonneville, Gillian Anderson, Huma Qureshi & Manish Dayal starrer English movie Viceroy’s House, Partition 1947 is getting almost positive reviews but still doesn’t attract considerable audience toward theaters.
On Friday, it did the business of only 0.11 crore with limited occupancy. On Saturday too, the movie remained poor and minted the amount of 0.20 crore. Sunday is expected to add little more to it’s account.
The last but not the least, dubbed Hindi version of last week released Tamil action drama Velai Illa Pattadhaari 2 aka VIP 2, VIP 2 Lalkar is getting mixed reviews from critics. Also due to clutter it is not getting much response from Hindi audience.
On Friday, Dhanush-Kajol starrer did the business of 0.55 crore. While on Saturday it collected the amount of 0.70 crore with slight rise in footfalls.
