5th Day Collection of Jagga Jasoos, Director Anurag Basu’s Film Crosses 40 Crore Total

Second venture of filmmaker Anurag Basu with the heartthrob of Bollywood Ranbir Kapoor after 2012’s Barfi!, Jagga Jasoos witnessed good opening weekend at domestic box office despite a decent start. But unfortunately it is getting failed to maintain a steady pace in weekdays.

After quite a long delay, Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif starrer this musical adventure film got released this Friday. Although the several postponements already took away the excitement of fans, but still due to high star power it recorded decent opening despite having War For The Planet Of The Apes in opposite.

From critics, Jagga Jasoos received mixed reviews but most of the audience found it watchable, which helped it to gain decent word of mouth. Due to favorable reactions, the film recorded fair growth over the weekend and remained unaffected despite new and existing offerings.

In the opening weekend, Anurag Basu’s directorial did the good business of 33.17 crores nett that included 8.57 crores of Friday, 11.53 crores of Saturday and 13.07 crores of Sunday from approx. 1800 screens across the country.

Now Jagga Jasoos is running in weekdays and due to normal working days, it faced abrupt decrease in footfalls. On Monday, it faced heavy drop of 53% than Friday and raked the business of 4.05 crores.

With further drop on Tuesday, Jagga Jasoos minted the amount of 3.48 crores and raised it’s 5 days domestic total to 40.70 crores. Weekdays are crucial for Ranbir-Katrina starrer to be on safe side, as due to number of delays and re-shoots, it has made with an unnecessary big budget of 110 crores.
