After an excellent opening weekend in their dominated regions, both the biggies- Kaala & Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom have entered on weekdays at a good pace. Superstar Rajinikanth’s latest offering is heading strongly in south India, while the American sci-fi is getting a solid response in rest of the country.
Directed by Pa. Ranjith, Tamil action thriller Kaala opened on a terrific note and by remaining strong throughout the extended 4-days weekend, it registered the business of 43.75 crores from Tamil Nadu, that included 15.40 crores on Thursday, 10.50 crores on Friday, 8.50 crores on Saturday, and 9.35 crores on Sunday.
At the domestic box office, Dhanush’ production has done the business of 71.50 crores in 4-days with a contribution of only 6.25 crores from its Hindi version. Now the movie has stepped-in on weekdays and minted the amount of 4.50 crores on Monday after a drop of 52% than Sunday. With this, the total collection of Kaala after 5 days has become 48.25 crores at the TN box office.
On the other hand, the sequel to 2015’s very successful Jurassic World has got mostly positive reviews from the critics as well as the audience across India. Due to the favorable word of mouth, it reported the business of 40.10 crores on the opening weekend, that included 6 crores on Thursday, 7.75 crores on Friday, 12.25 crores on Saturday, and 14.10 crores on Sunday.
Now Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom has entered on normal working days and still has a solid hold over the Indian audience despite not being released in 3D formats. On Monday, with a drop of approx. 21% than Thursday, it minted the amount of 4.75 crores and raised its 5 days total to 44.85 crores.
