After an above average opening weekend, Munna Michael getting failed to stay steady at box office in weekdays. On Monday, it witnessed an abrupt drop in footfalls than Friday, while the less buzzed adjacent release Lipstick Under My Burkha still has comparatively better hold over the audience across India.
Directed by Sabbir Khan, Munna Michael is the third movie of him with Tiger Shroff after 2014’s Heropanti and 2016’s Baaghi. Like their last two offerings, the latest one was also expected to receive good response at box office, but unfortunately it got failed to achieve that height.
Because of weak plot, Munna Michael received mixed reviews from critics as well as audience and as a result remained lower than earlier expectations. On the opening day, it recorded overall an average occupancy and did the business of 6.65 crores from 3000 screens.
Then on Saturday, despite being weekend this action dance movie reported slight drop and minted the amount of 6.32 crores. On Sunday, Munna Michael got rescued and raked the business of 8.70 crores with good jump in footfalls.
Now it running in weekdays and due to normal working day, getting lesser response than before. On Monday, the movie faced around 51% of dip than Friday and added the amount of 3.25 crores to it’s account.
On the next day i.e. Tuesday, Munna Michael faced further drop and collected the amount of 2.65 crores. With this, total 5 days collection of Tiger Shroff starrer has become 27.57 crores at domestic box office.
On the other hand Lipstick Under My Burkha which was released on small scale, did the business of 5.80 crores in the opening weekend from 400 screens. On Monday, it remained steady and reported the business of 1.28 crore, which was higher than it’s opening day.
With slight growth in occupancy, this Konkona Sen Sharma, Ratna Pathak, Aahana Kumra & Plabita Borthakur starrer black drama minted 1.36 crore on Tuesday and made it’s 5 days domestic total as 8.44 crores.
