After an average opening weekend, weekdays are very crucial for the newly released Hindi movies Poster Boys and Daddy. But unfortunately both have received mixed reviews from critics and now struggling to attract audience toward theaters in normal working days.
Directed by Shreyas Talpade, Poster Boys is the official remake of Hit Marathi movie Poshter Boyz and starring Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol & Shreyas himself in lead roles. It is the story of three common men, who accidentally become the face of a vasectomy advertisement.
In the opening weekend, this comedy drama witnessed an average response throughout and did the business of 7.25 crores, that included 1.75 crore on Friday, 2.40 crores of Saturday and 3.10 crores of Sunday. Now the movie is running in weekdays and asusual getting lower footfalls in theaters than before.
On Monday, Poster Boys faced 34.3% of drop than Friday and minted the amount of 1.15 crore. Then on Tuesday with further drop, it raked the business of 1 crore and raised it’s 5 days total collection to 9.40 crores at domestic box office.
While on the other hand, Ashim Ahluwalia’s directorial crime drama Daddy is the story of gangster-turned-politician Arun Gawli played by Arjun Rampal. This one too received mixed reviews from critics and also got failed to attract enough audience outside Maharashtra.
In the opening weekend, it did the business of 4.60 crores including 1.30 crore on Friday, 1.50 crore on Saturday and 1.80 crore on Sunday. On Monday, Arjun Rampal starrer witnessed around 41.4% of drop than Friday and minted 0.75 crore.
On the next day i.e. Tuesday, the movie dropped further and garnered the business of 0.60 crore. With this, total 5 days collection of Daddy has become 5.95 crores domestically. Last week’s offerings Baadshaho and Shubh Mangal Saavdhan are getting better response than the new ones in this week.
