After thoroughly cashing the festive opening weekend and one bonus holiday on Monday, David Dhawan’s directorial remake of 1997’s Judwaa is showing good performance in weekdays as well. Within just 5 days of release, Judwaa 2 has surpassed the lifetime total of bigger movie Baadshaho at domestic box office.
Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu starrer this action comedy has unfortunately received mixed reviews from critics but still attracting major segment of audience toward theaters across the country. From overseas market as well, the movie is getting excellent response.
Judwaa 2 registered 4th highest opening of the year in Hindi cinema and second best of Varun’s career. It reported outstanding performance throughout the opening weekend and did the business of total 59.25 crores nett, that included 16.10 crores of Friday, 20.55 crores of Saturday and 22.60 crores of Sunday from 3500+ screens nationwide.
On Monday due to holiday on account of Gandhi Jayanti, Varun-Jacqueline-Taapsee starrer remained strong and raked the business of 18 crores. The on Tuesday, it faced 55.3% of drop than previous day and but still managed to collect good amount of 8.05 crores.
With this, 5 days total collection of Judwaa 2 has become 85.30 crores domestically. Soon it would be a second super hit of Varun Dhawan in this year after Badrinath Ki Dulhania and strongly seems to emerge as his 4th 100-crore grosser after Dilwale, BKD & ABCD 2 by this week or second Friday.
