After a phenomenal weekend, Ayushmann Khurrana & Sanya Malhotra’s first-ever film together Badhaai Ho has passed the extended 8-days week on an excellent note and emerged a superhit. It has also become the highest grossing film of Ayushmann’s career so far.
Directed by Amit Sharma, this quirky comedy-drama Badhaai Ho has received mostly positive reviews from the critics as well as the audience. Due to solid word of mouth, it remained strong throughout the extended opening weekend and collected 45.70 crores with 7.35 crores on Thursday, 11.85 crores on Friday, 12.80 crores on Saturday & 13.70 crores on Sunday.
Then on weekdays as well, the movie remained rock-steady and registered the business of 5.65 crores on Monday, 5.50 crores on Tuesday & 5 crores on Wednesday. On the next day i.e. 2nd Thursday, it bagged 4.25 crores and raised 8-days extended week total collection to 66.10 crores at the domestic box office.
On the other hand, Arjun Kapoor & Parineeti Chopra starrer much-talked romantic drama Namaste England has got failed to impress viewers and recorded a dull response at the box office. In the opening weekend, it did the business of only 7.95 crores that included 1.90 crores on Thursday, 2.50 crores on Friday, 1.55 crores on Saturday & 2 crores on Sunday.
On weekdays, Vipul Amrutlal Shah’s directorial got crashed further and minted the amount of 0.75 crore on Monday, 0.60 crore on Tuesday & 0.45 crore on Wednesday. On its 2nd Thursday, the movie raked 0.35 crore and raised its extended one week total collection to 10.10 crores.
