After completing the opening week on a decent note, director Anees Bazmee’s latest offering Mubarakan had witnessed abrupt drop in footfalls on it’s 2nd Friday. But to catch the track back, it picked up little well on the next day i.e. 2nd Saturday and now seems to garner almost decent business in this extended weekend.
Arjun Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Ileana D’cruz and Athiya Shetty starrer this romantic comedy drama Mubarakan is one of the few Hindi movies since Baahubali 2, which has received positive reviews from the audience and critics as well. But unfortunately it’s business graph is not following the expected pattern.
On the opening day, Mubarakan started the journey on an average note but picked up impressively well from the next day due to positive word of mouth and did the business of 22.91 crores in the opening weekend, that included 5.16 crores of Friday, 7.38 crores of Saturday and 10.37 crores of Sunday.
Then in weekdays with average but steady note, it minted the amount of 3.55 crores on Monday, 3.45 crores on Tuesday, 3 crores on Wednesday and 2.75 crores on Thursday. After the opening week, total collection of the movie was recorded as 35.66 crores from 2350 screens at domestic box office.
Now Arjun Kapoor starrer is running in the second weekend and has biggie Jab Harry Met Sejal of superstar Shahrukh Khan in opposite. On 2nd Friday, the movie raked the business of 1.05 crore with around 62% of drop than the previous day.
Then on 2nd Saturday, Mubarakan witnessed decent growth in footfalls and garnered the business of 2 crores. With this, total 9 days domestic collection of this family entertainer has become 38.71 crores. It is positively expected to take more growth on Sunday and Monday (Raksha Bandhan).
