‘Airlift’ Minted Higher Business than new Films in the 2nd Weekend
Akshay Kumar and Nimrat Kaur starrer last week released war thriller film Airlift is flying high on box office. It showed tremendous performance in the opening week and still has completed hold over audience. It is still the first choice of viewers in theaters and that is the reason it has minted higher business than new releases Mastizaade and Saala Khadoos in the second weekend. Unaffected by new films, Airlift has entered in the 100 crore club at domestic box office in just 10 days of release. It has become the 4th film of lead star Akshay to enter in this club and the fastest one in doing so.
The film did the total business of 83.50 crores in its first week from India, that includes 44.30 crores of weekend and 39.20 crores of weekdays. Now it is running in the second week and still getting well at box office, in the second weekend it raked the business of 19.26 crores that includes 4.50 crores of Friday, 6.50 crores of Saturday and 8.26 crores of Sunday. Till the end of weekend total collection of Airlift was recorded as 102.76 crores on domestic and 35.23 crores on overseas box office.
Once again it has entered in weekdays and started getting lower response. On Monday, the film witnessed the drop of more than 50% and minted the amount of 2.53 crores on Indian screens. Till the end of the day, total collection of Airlift is recorded as 105.29 crores. It is expected to gross near about 110 crores till this week.
