‘Airlift’ sets new peak for Akshay Kumar
Raja Krishna Menon’s directorial film ‘Airlift’, which has been released last month with huge excitement of audience. It has received very positive reviews from critics as well as moviegoers. Showed tremendous performance till first two weeks and become first big hit of the year so far. The film features superstar Akshay Kumar and Nimrat Kaur in lead roles, both the stars have given brilliant performances and are being praised by everyone. Airlift has registered many records till yet and heading to set new peak for Akshay.
It has become the fourth film of Akshay to enter in 100 crore club domestically. Also become the second highest grosser film of his career after Rowdy Rathore. In its last two weeks journey, Airlift did the business of total 112.29 crores, that includes 83.50 crores of first week and 28.79 crores of second week. Now it is running in the third week and has grossed 8.41 crores in the weekend, that comprises 2.03 crores of Friday, 3.04 crores of Saturday and 3.34 crores of Sunday.
Till the end of its third weekend, total collection of Airlift was calculated as 120.70 crores on domestic box office. From its overseas screens, it has minted the business of 41.25 crores in 17 days. That mads its worldwide total collection to 161.95 crores excluding shares. Due to strong word of mouth, the film is still competing with new releases.
Once again it has entered in weekdays and getting lesser audience in theaters. On Monday, it witnessed the drop of around 50% than previous day and done the business of 1.04 crore as its 18th day collection. With this figure, the total 18 days domestic collection of Airlift has become 121.74 crores.
