Since last year Aiyaary was making good buzz among the audience, but the conditions are opposite after its release. This time director Neeraj Pandey got failed to impress viewers with his new thriller, which is getting mixed reviews from critics. As a result, the movie remained low on Saturday as well after a dull opening on Friday.
Crime thriller Aiyaary got postponed several times to avoid a clash with Akshay Kumar’s PadMan, which had affected its pre-release buzz. But still, it was expected to open on a better note than Sidharth’s previous movie Ittefaq (4.05 crores) as the master of thriller movies Neeraj Pandey himself associated with it as a director.
On the contrary, Sidharth Malhotra, Manoj Bajpayee, and Rakul Preet starrer recorded dull start on Friday with 20-25% of occupancy across the country. Aiyaary did the business of only 3.36 crores on Friday from 1754 Indian screens, which is even lesser than a big flop A Gentleman (4.40 crores).
Then on Saturday as well, despite weekend the movie remained low and took minimal growth. With a rise of approx. 20.50% than Friday, Aiyaary raked the business of 4.05 crores on its second day. With this, its 2 days total collection has become 7.41 crores at the domestic box office.
On the other hand, the Hollywood offering Black Panther is getting a terrific response at the Indian box office. On Friday, it did the business of 5.60 crores including 0.35 crore of limited paid previews held on Thursday’s evening. Then on Saturday, with a good jump, it collected 6.65 crores and raised its 2 days total to 12.25 crores.
