After an excellent extended opening week, Independence Day’s releases Gold and Satyameva Jayate have slowed down and continue to fall due to new successfully running Hindi movies. Both have passed the third weekend on a low note because of having Stree & Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se in the parallel.
Directed by Reema Kagti, the sports drama Gold has received mostly positive reviews from the critics as well as the audience. In the opening 9-days extended week, it did the business of 89.30 crores that included 71.30 crores on the weekend and 18 crores on weekdays.
In the second week, after a considerable drop, it collected 14.70 crores that included 9.70 crores on the weekend and 5 crores on weekdays. Then in the third weekend, Gold managed to collect 0.45 crore on 3rd Friday, 0.82 crore on 3rd Saturday, and 1.20 crores on 3rd Sunday to take its 19 days total to 106.47 crores.
On the other hand, John Abraham and Manoj Bajpayee starrer Satyameva Jayate has also got received a positive response and collected the amount of 75.09 crores in the 9-days extended opening week that included 56.91 crores on the weekend and 18.18 crores on weekdays.
In the second week, Milap Milan Zaveri’s directorial got dropped and collected 13.71 crores with 8.34 crores on the weekend and 5.37 crores on weekdays. In the third weekend, SMJ bagged 0.20 crore on 3rd Friday, 0.30 crore on 3rd Saturday, and 0.50 crore on 3rd Sunday. After 19 days, the total collection of the movie has become 89.80 crores nett.
