‘Bajirao Mastani’ is at 3rd, after Bajrangi Bhaijaan & PRDP
Last month released the epic film ‘Bajirao Mastani’ has acquired the third position among top highest grosser films of year 2015. It was released on 18th of December and in just 17 days, it has surprisingly done excellent business at box office and also dominated Shahrukh Khan starrer biggie Dilwale, that was released on the same day with higher screen count. With such commendable performance, Bajirao Mastani has proved that, slow and steady always wins the race. It was started on a decent note but due to strong word of mouth, it gained good pace and raked stable business through out. The film has received very positive reviews from all critics as well as viewers, which has resulted out in extreme favor of it.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s this magnum opus was recorded decent response in its first week and minted the total amount of 86.15 crores from Indian screens, comprises 46.77 crores of weekend and 39.38 crores of weekdays. In its second week, Bajirao Mastani was witnessed only 30% of drop and collected total 55.70 crores, that includes 34.30 crores of weekend and 21.40 crores of weekdays. Till the end of 2 weeks, total collection of the film was recorded as 141.85 crores at domestic box office.
Now Bajirao Mastani is running in its third week and showed decent growth in the third weekend. It has raked total 20.50 crores in the weekend, that includes 7.50 crores of Friday, 6 crores of Saturday and 7 crores of Sunday. Till the end of its 17th day, total collection of the film is recorded as 162.35 crores on Indian screens. Still it has good hold on audience and heading smoothly to achieve more.
