YRF’s Befikre is Expected to take Decent Opening on Box Office
Aditya Chopra’s directorial Befikre is the new offering from Bollywood this week, to enter in the race of box office opposite to already existing Dear Zindagi & Kahaani 2. Both previous releases have left good impact over audience but being highly buzzed, Ranveer Singh & Vaani Kapoor starrer romantic drama is expected to remain affected by these two. Earlier there were rumors, that Befikre is not releasing on single screens but Yash Raj Films has confirmed that 35% of cinemas booked for the movie are single screens.
Despite bold content, Befikre is passed by the Censor Board under U/A category without cuts and is being released on total 2900 screens across the globe. That includes 2100 screens of India and rest 800 of international market. With its quirky trailer and youthful music, the movie has created good hype among audience, especially youth. So it is positively expected to take a decent start on Friday.
As per the report, YRF’s latest venture has recorded average average booking and expected to receive more than 40% of occupancy on the opening day across the country. With such fair footfall, it can open with double-digit business i.e. 10-11 crores domestically. From overseas too, the movie is expected to receive quite good response from audience as it has been shot in Paris, also get promoted there on a good scale.
Yesterday, on 8th of December, it is premiered on Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF). Coming to the economics, then Befikre is produced with the budget of 55 crores and around 15 crores are spent on its Prints & Advertising. This means, the landing cost is 70 crores and it has to recover this amount on box office to become hit. Not sure but there are rumors, that the satellite rights of Befikre are sold at 25 crores.
