Superstar Salman Khan starrer very much awaited Sultan has proved itself blockbuster within 5 days of release. The movie has been released on July 6, two days before than the normal release, so it has enjoyed 5 days weekend and dominated the lifetime record of many biggies till its opening weekend.

As expected, Sultan has received very positive reviews from most of the critics as well as moviegoers. It has witnessed overwhelmed response from audience across the country as well as in overseas. After a long dry spell of box office, this Salman Khan starrer has come out as the big hope for the industry.

Everyone liked the movie and showed big thumbs up for it. The star Salman Khan has given mind blowing performance in Sultan and is being praised by everyone for that. Female lead Anushka Sharma has also performed impactfully and synced brilliantly with Salman.

On the opening day, Sultan reported the excellent occupancy of 85% across the country and minted the amount of 36.54 crores, which is the biggest opening of the year so far and the third highest opening of all time in Bollywood after HNY & PRDP. Also it has become the second highest opening day grosser movie of Salman Khan’s career so far.

In just 3 days, Sultan did the business of over 100 crores and emerged as year’s third movie to enter in this club after Airlift & Housefull 3. With this, it has also become the 10th movie of Salman Khan’s career and 44th movie of Bollywood to unlock this badge.

After 3 days, total domestic collection of Sultan was recorded as 105.53 crores which is higher than the 3 days collection of Salman Khan’s biggest blockbuster Bajrangi Bhaijaan (102.60 crores).

In just 4 days, Sultan had reported the total domestic business of 142.15 crores and become the year’s biggest grosser by surpassing the lifetime business of Airlift (128.10 crores).

In the opening week, Bajrangi Bhaijaan collected the amount of 184.61 crores whereas Sultan has minted the amount of 180.36 crores in its opening weekend or we can say in 5 days of release.

By collecting the amount of 208.82 crores in just 7 days on domestic box office, Sultan has registered the master record of fastest 200 crores. Whereas other biggies like PK, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Dhoom 3 etc. took 9 days for this.

After the 8th day, total domestic collection of Sultan was recorded as 219.64 crores but which it has surpassed the lifetime total of Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, that was 210.16 crores. With its 9th day collection of 9.52 crores, it has also surpassed the lifetime total of SRK’s Chennai Express (227.13 crores) and become 6th highest grossing movie of all time in Bollywood.

At the end of its 9-days opening week, total collection of Sultan was recorded as 229.16 crores on domestic box office. With this, it has registered the highest opening week record in Indian cinema. Also it has become the third highest grossing movie of Salman Khan’s career so far after Bajrangi Bhaijaan & Kick.

Till the end of its 2nd weekend, total domestic collection of Sultan was recorded as 263.23 crores. By which it has surpassed the lifetime total of Kick (231.85 crores) & Krrish 3 (244.92 crores) and now at the fourth position among top highest grossing movies of all time in Bollywood after PK, Bajrangi Bhaijaan & Dhoom 3.

Also it has grossed 504.85 crores worldwide in just 12 days and become the fastest 500 crore grosser movie of all time. This includes 368.52 crores gross of domestic box office and 136.33 crores from overseas market.

In 15 days of release, Sultan reported the domestic business of 274.45 crores and surpassed the lifetime total of Dhoom 3‘s Hindi version, that was 271.82 crores. Till 19th day, it minted 289.05 crores total across India and surpassed the lifetime total of Dhoom 3 (284.97 crores) including its Hindi, Tamil & Telugu versions. Now Sultan has become the third highest grossing movie of all time in Bollywood after PK & Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
