8 Days Total Collection of Akshay Kumar’s Rustom
Last Friday released thriller drama Rustom has already become the fourth highest grossing movie of the year so far in just one week. Being superstar Akshay Kumar starrer, it has been released with enormous buzz among fans as well as audience. As expected witnessed excellent response from everyone across the globe and dominated the adjacent strong release Mohenjo Daro.
Due to strong story line and profound performances by all the actors, Rustom has received very positive reviews from most of the critics as well as moviegoers. Some of them are not satisfied with the movie but still it has reported terrific business through out in the opening week and also has good hold over the audience after that.
In the opening week, Tinu Suresh Desai’s directorial Rustom did the business of 90.90 crores net (126.25 crores gross) on domestic box office, with 50.42 crores of weekend and 40.58 crores of weekdays. The weekend total included, 14.11 crores of Friday, 16.43 crores of Saturday and 19.88 crores of Sunday.
In weekdays, it remained almost strong and minted 17.81 crores on Monday (Independence Day), 7.67 crores on Tuesday, 6.38 crores on Wednesday & 8.62 crores on Thursday (Raksha Bandhan). With the end of opening week, it surpassed the lifetime of Shahrukh Khan’s Fan (84.10 crores) and emerged as the second highest opening week grosser of the year and the first highest of Akshay’s career so far.
Now the movie has entered in the second weekend and keep dominating the newly released romantic-comedy Happy Bhag Jayegi. On its second Friday, Rustom faced almost 50% of drop than Thursday and added the amount of 4.41 crores to its account. With this, total 8 days domestic collection of the movie has become 95.31 crores. It is all set to enter in 100 crores club across India by Saturday.
