Box Office: Shivaay 10th Day Collection, Surpasses Lifetime Total of SRK’s Fan

Ajay Devgn’s directorial recent offering Shivaay has achieved one more height with the end of its second weekend. In just 10 days of release, it has surpassed the lifetime total of Shahrukh Khan’s Fan. Being year’s one of the much hyped movies, this action thriller has been released with enormous buzz among fans and as expected received very favorable response from viewers.

Because of its mind blowing camera work, visuals and action sequences, Shivaay has marked as mammoth from most of critics but at box office, it has lagged behind the adjacent romantic drama movie Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Due to positive word of mouth, Ajay Devgn starrer remained strong through out and reducing the difference in the businesses of both movies.

In the opening week, Shivaay witnessed good occupancy and did the business of 70.41 crores from Indian screens, which included 28.56 crores of weekend and 41.85 crores of weekdays. Being holidays on Monday & Tuesday, the movie raked impressive business in weekdays.

Now it is running in its second week and still has good hold over audience. In the second weekend, as expected it showed decent jump in its business. On 2nd Friday, Shivaay faced usual drop than previous day and minted the amount of 4.61 crores, which was higher than Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Then on Saturday, the movie witnessed decent rise and did the business of 5.40 crores.

On the last day of weekend i.e. Sunday, it reported good growth and added the amount of 7.08 crores to its account. With this, its 10 days total collection has become 87.50 crores on domestic box office. If Shivaay gets similar response, then it can easily cross the mark of 100 crores by this week.
