‘Brahmotsavam’ gets low after the Opening Day
Latest Telugu offering, the family drama movie ‘Brahmotsavam’ has completed its first weekend journey with almost decent response. It was one of the much awaited Telugu movies of the year and had huge pre-release hype among audience. But unfortunately it has not received positive reviews from critics as well as moviegoers.
Due to initial buzz, Brahmotsavam had taken excellent start on box office with over 70% of occupancy across the Telugu states- Andhra Pradesh & Telangana. But got failure to maintain the pace and witnessed heavy drops in its business from the second day only.
On its opening day, it reported outstanding response of audience and minted the amount of 12.60 crores on 900 screens of AP/T. With this it has become the second highest grosser Telugu movie of the year so far after Pawan Kalyan’s Sardaar Gabbar Singh. It is also the second biggest opening of Mahesh Babu’s career so far after Srimanthudu.
Everyone had very high expectations with Brahmotsavam but it has got failure to acquire place in the hearts of audience. Due to unfavorable response of audience, on the next day it faced almost 75% of drop and minted the amount of only 3.15 crores as its second day collection.
On the last day of weekend i.e. Sunday, even after being holiday it reported little lesser and collected the amount of 2.90 crores as its third day collection. After the 1st weekend, total collection of Brahmotsavam was recorded as 18.65 crores across Telugu states.
Now the movie has entered in weekdays and as expected witnessed very low response. It has raked the amount of only 2.70 crores on Monday. After 4 days of release, total collection of Brahmotsavam is recorded as 21.35 crores on AP/T box office. It is falling with high rate and credit goes to the content which hasn’t clicked to audience.
