Drishyam is the remake of a Malayalam movie that was released in year 2013 and already made in various languages. Audience appreciating Ajay Devgn who has performed so well in the movie as he known for. Tabu who has played the role of strict cop, is also getting praised by Bollywood lovers. That is true if the movie was running solo at box office then it could perform far better than this. The already created super positive environment of Baahubali and Bajrangi Bhaijaan resulted in little bit loss for Drishyam. But we also can’t deny this truth, that it has slowed down the pace of both the movies.

With almost decent occupancy, it has made the collection of 8.50 crores on its first day including 50 lacs of paid premieres that were held on Thursday. Word of mouth was resulted in growth; Drishyam made 9.40 crores on Saturday and 12.13 crores on the main weekend i.e. Sunday. From weekdays, it was started facing considerable drop of more than 50% in its business. The movie was collected 4.05 crores on its fourth day and 4.50 crores on the fifth day. Yesterday was its 6th day at box office and it has done the business of around 4.10 crores and made its total to 42.68 crores.
