Shahrukh’s Fan Disappoints Everyone with its Box Office Performance
Yash Raj Films’ latest collaboration with superstar Shahrukh Khan has not resulted out well. The last week released movie ‘Fan‘ is not getting much response at box office and after 10 days of release, it is still far way from the mark of 100 cr. Despite so much hype, heavy promotions and positive reviews by most of critics, it has almost failed to sustain up to the expectations. The SRK starrer was strongly predicted to be the highest grosser of 2016 but this statement has fulfilled by the parallel one Hollywood biggie The Jungle Book, despite being a week older this one has reported better performance than Fan.
The superstar SRK has given a superb performance as his both the characters but due to lack of regular ingredients like romance, music etc., the movie is getting such disappointing response. Maneesh Sharma’s directorial this thriller drama reported overall good box office performance in its opening week but not up to the stardom level of Shahrukh. It had raked the business of total 71.50 cr in first 7 days from India, that includes 52.35 cr of weekend and 19.15 cr of weekdays and emerged as 3rd highest opening week grosser after Airlift and The Jungle Book. From overseas market, it made 51.48 cr after a week.
Now it is running in its second week and just passed its second weekend on a decent note. On Friday, it witnessed an average response and minted the amount of 1.70 cr. On Saturday it received little higher and did the business of 2.65 cr as its 9th day collection. On the last day of weekend i.e. Sunday, being holiday it added 3.40 cr to its account. After 10 days, total collection of Fan is recorded as 79.25 cr at domestic box office. With such cold craze of audience, the movie won’t be able to stand in opposite to coming Friday release Baaghi.
