‘Fan’ 18 Days Domestic Box Office Report
Yash Raj Films’ recently released thriller drama big budget movie ‘Fan’ has failed to entertain audience up to the expectations. Shahrukh Khan starrer this very much awaited movie has been released with massive excitement of fans as well as audience but has not performed so terrific as everyone was expecting before its release. Fan has been promoted on a grand scale and has received very positive reviews from most of the critics, despite all this it has not crossed the mark of 100 cr at domestic box office. Due to magnificent initial buzz, it registered highest opening and highest opening weekend record so far in this year, but settled down very soon after that. This shows that content is the king, if it clicks then movie gets well otherwise results are in front of us.
In the opening week, with overall good note Fan raked the business of 71.50 cr, that includes 52.35 cr of weekend and 19.15 cr of weekdays. In the second week, it faced heavy drop and minted the total amount of only 11.45 cr that includes 7.75 cr of weekend and 3.70 cr of weekdays. Nobody expected such down market performance by the movie of King Khan. After the 2 weeks, total domestic collection of Fan was recorded as 82.95 cr. From overseas, it reported the total business of 64.96 cr.
These days the movie is running its third week and reported very low in the weekend due to the release of new Hindi movie Baaghi, which is doing well at box office. In its second weekend, it raked the business of total 0.67 cr* including 0.21 cr* of Friday, 0.19 cr* of Saturday and 0.27 cr* of Sunday. Now once again it has entered in weekdays and getting very less. On Monday it added the amount of only 0.14 cr* to its account. After the 18th day, total domestic collection of Maneesh Sharma’s directorial Fan is recorded as 83.76 cr*
This must be mentioned that a week older Hollywood movie than Fan, The Jungle Book is witnessing amazing response from Indian audience. In its fourth week even, it is reporting better than what Fan did in its second week.
