The two noticeable releases of this Friday, Hindi drama Hichki and Punjabi biographical war drama Sajjan Singh Rangroot have got succeed to impress the critics as well as the audience. Both stand high on content and getting positive word of mouth, which will help them to grow over the weekend.
Directed by Sidharth P Malhotra, Rani Mukerji starrer Hichki is an adaptation of the book Front of the Class: How Tourette Syndrome Made Me the Teacher I Never Had by Brad Cohen. Very wonderfully the actor has performed the character of a teacher having Tourette syndrome.
On the opening day, Hichki opened to a slow note in morning but from the evening shows, it witnessed decent growth in multiplexes due to the positive response. With overall 30-35% of occupancy on 961 screens across India, the movie has done the business of 3.30 crores at the domestic box office.
While on the other hand, superstar of Punjab Diljit Dosanjh starrer Sajjan Singh Rangroot is one of the most anticipated Punjabi movies of the year. Directed by Pankaj Batra, the movie is based on World War I, in which the actor has played the role of British Army soldier Maharaja Sir Sajjan Singh brilliantly well.
Due to the presence of Diljit, the movie has been released with huge buzz among fans as well as the Punjabi audience. As expected, it has got a good opening and registered the business of 1.35 crore from 414 screens at the domestic box office with a major contribution by Punjab region.
