Year’s one of the much awaited comedy drama Fukrey Returns has completed it’s 2 weeks journey on an excellent note. Being the sequel to 2013’s Fukrey, it was released with good recall value and surprisingly got beyond-expected response at box office across the country.
With perfect comic timing of all the actors and funny dialogues, Fukrey Returns has impressed everyone and as expected received positive reviews from most of the critics. As a result, it remained rock-steady throughout it’s journey so far despite having new offering in opposite.
Directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, the movie opened to a solid note nationwide and showed remarkable growth over the weekend due to positive word of mouth. By remaining strong in weekdays as well, it did the business of total 50.55 crores in the first week that included 32.20 crores of weekend and 18.35 crores from 1500 screens in India.
In the second weekend, once again Fukrey Returns took superb jump and registered the business of 15.56 crores, that included 3.31 crores of Friday, 5.15 crores of Saturday and 7.10 crores of Sunday. After 10 days of release, total collection of the movie was recorded as 66.11 crores.
Then in weekdays, it witnessed sudden drops in footfalls due to normal working days but still managed to stay steady. With around 32% of drop than Friday, Excel Entertainment’s production raked the business of 2.25 crores on 2nd Monday.
With further decline, this comedy drama collected the amount of 2.10 crores on 2nd Tuesday and 1.75 crore on 2nd Wednesday. On the next day i.e. 2nd Thursday, Fukrey Returns bagged 1.60 crore and raised it’s 2 weeks total collection to 73.81 crores at domestic box office.
