5 Days Total Collection of Rajinikanth’s Kabali
Recent Tamil offering Kabali has shattered many records of Indian cinema so far on box office. Being superstar Rajinikanth starrer, it has been released with massive buzz among audience across India as well as globe. As expected the movie reported gigantic opening on Friday with phenomenal occupancy. Unfortunately it has received much positive reviews from critics but still it has grossed more than 200 crores worldwide in the weekend only.
With the opening business of 46.50 crores, Kabali has dominated the highest opening record of Bollywood’s movie Happy New Year, that was 44.97 crores. Also it has registered the highest opening in Tamil Nadu alone, with the amount of 21.50 crores. The previous highest opening record was 15.50 crores of Ajith Kumar’s Vedhalam. Not only in India, from overseas market too, the movie reported 12.93 crores on Thursday with only its previews shows.
In the opening weekend, Kabali witnessed the overall occupancy of 80% through out and did the business of 110 crores. This included 46.50 crores of Friday, 29.75 crores of Saturday and 33 crores of Sunday. In the weekend, Pa Ranjith’s directorial minted 47 crores from Tamil Nadu, 20 crores from Andhra Pradesh, 16 crores from Karnataka, 7.85 crores from Kerala and 19.15 crores from north plus rest of India, including all there versions- Tamil, Telugu & Hindi.
From overseas, it did the total business of 87 crores in the weekend plus Thursday premiers. This included 27 crores of USA/Canada, 28 crores of Malaysia/Singapore, 21 crores of UAE/GCC, 11 crores of UK plus Europe and rest of world. After a weekend, worldwide gross collection of Kabali was recorded as 215 crores with 128 crores India gross.
Now the movie is running in weekdays and as usual started getting lesser occupancy than weekend. On Monday, it witnessed the drop of almost 55% than Saturday and raked the business of 13.50 crores across India. On Tuesday, Kabali reported slight more drop and added the amount of 11.50 crores to its account. With this, its 5 days domestic net total has become 135 crores.
