‘Neerja’ Soaring on Box Office!
The latest offering from Bollywood, Neerja is getting huge appreciation from audience as well as critics for its strong and intense content. The film is based on the real story of air hostess Neerja Bhanot, who was shot dead by terrorists while Mumbai-New York flight hijack in Karachi on 5th September 1986. Sonam Kapoor is playing the title role in the film and has given best performance of her career so far. The actress is being praised by everyoen for such lovely performance. Last we seen the same kind of response for Akshay Kumar’s Airlift, which has registered number of records at box office.
Neerja has been released this Friday on 700 screens across the country. On its opening day, it had witnessed good occupancy of 40% and raked the business of 4.70 crores. Due to strong word of mouth, it has showed impressive jump in its business on Saturday and minted 7.60 crores. Till the end of 2 days, total collection of the film is recorded as 12.30 crores. Along with it, three more films have been released this week- LoveShhuda, Ishq Forever & Direct Ishq. Among these three, LoveShhuda is getting considerable response while others are just struggling to get audience.
LoveShhuda is getting positive reactions from critics as well as audience but less occupancy at box office. On its very first day, it had not witnessed much well and collected the amount of only 0.64 crore with 10-15% of occupancy across the country. On Saturday, being weekend it witnessed little well and added 0.73 crore to its account. On the last day of weekend, being Sunday it has started with better response than last two days and is likely to rake around 0.80 crore as its third day collection.
Come to Neerja, then it has started its third day with outstanding occupancy across the country and flying high on buzz. Today’s collection of the film is estimated to be around 9.71 crores from India, which make it total weekend domestic collection as 22.01 crores. It is positively expected to head with steady performance in weekdays.
