The latest offering of rising Bollywood superstar Varun Dhawan, October has completed its opening weekend on a good note despite a slow start. Due to positive reactions from the critics as well as the audience, the movie got succeed to take a solid growth over the weekend.
Directed by Shoojit Sircar, October is the first-ever collaboration of him with Varun Dhawan and the debutante Banita Sandhu, who is playing opposite to Varun in lead role. Both the actors have performed brilliantly well and are being praised by everyone for that.
On the first day, the movie opened on a slow note in morning and registered the opening business of 5.04 crores after a slight increase in footfalls in multiplexes across the country. With this, it has become the lowest opener for Varun and emerged the 6th highest grossing movie of the year so far.
Then on Saturday, due to complete fans support and critical acclaim, October took an excellent growth in footfalls and raked the business of 7.47 crores. On the next day i.e. Sunday, it witnessed slight more jump and minted the amount of 7.74 crores.
With this, the total collection of the movie after the first weekend has become 20.25 crores at the domestic box office from 1683 screens. As per current trend, it seems to remain steady on weekdays as well, because the audience is now accepting offbeat flicks.
