Calendar Girls & Bhaag Johnny Box Office Report
Madhur Bhandarkar directorial latest movie Calendar Girls is getting decent response from audience as compare to its budget and screens count. The movie was released this Friday i.e. 25th September 2015 on approximately 1100 screens in India. It is featuring five new actresses Akanksha Puri, Avani Modi, Kyra Dutt, Ruhi Singh & Satarupa Pyne for lead roles. Calendar Girls is a low budgeted movie, has made in just 9 crores including promotions and advertisements cost.
On its first day, the movie was recorded an average occupancy in India and minted the amount of 1.50 crore. The figure is not so impressive but as compare to its budget, we can take it as decent. The director said, Calendar Girls is a story with 75% reality & 25% fiction. May that is the reason behind such decent response from audience towards the movie. In weekend, movie showed little drop and minted 1 crore on Saturday & 1.30 crores on Sunday. Till the end of weekend, total collection of Calendar Girls is recorded as 3.80 crores.
Whereas the another new release Bhaag Johnny of actor Kunal Khemu is not getting much response at box office. The movie is directed by Shivam Nair and produced under three banners- T Series, Super Cassettes Industries Pvt. Ltd. & Vishesh Films. After the release of its official trailer, it was expected to perform decently at box office but due to less promotions it is not even able to stand. Music has created good buzz among audience but still no one is showing concern about the movie.
On Friday, it recorded below average occupancy in theaters and done the business of only 0.60 crore*. In weekend also, Bhaag Johnny has not witnessed any considerable growth in its business and minted around 0.45 crore* on Saturday and 0.55 crore* on Sunday. Till the end of weekend, total collection of the movie is recorded as 1.60 crores* only.
