After crossing the mark of 200-crore at the domestic box office, now Padmaavat has touched 400 crores gross globally. Despite numerous threats and protests, the movie has got succeed to divert major audience toward itself and heading very smoothly across the country as well as overseas.
Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Padmaavat that was earlier known as Padmavati went through a long trouble and finally got released last month on January 25. The controversies helped it to gain huge hype worldwide and as a result, the movie is soaring at the box office from the very first day of release.
Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, and Shahid Kapoor starrer this epic period drama opened to an excellent and gained positive remarks from everyone. Throughout the opening week, it remained strong and did the business of 166.50 crores that included 114 crores of 4-days weekend and 52.50 crores of weekdays.
Padmaavat is now running in its second week and once again passed the weekend on a remarkable growth. It raked the business of 46 crores in the second weekend, that included 10 crores of 2nd Friday, 16 crores of 2nd Saturday and 20 crores of 2nd Sunday.
Then in weekdays, as usual, the movie witnessed an abrupt drop in footfalls but still showing strong performance. On 2nd Monday, it minted the amount of 7 crores after a drop of 30% than Friday. On the next day i.e. Tuesday, with slight further dip, Padmaavat bagged the amount of 6 crores and raised its 13 days domestic total to 225.50 crores.
