Ever since the announcement was made, ace filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Padmaavat has been one of the most awaited films. Despite numerous controversies and delays, it’s hype remained unaffected, that is why this epic drama is experiencing excellent advance booking across the country.
Finally after a long wait, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor starrer Padmaavat (earlier known as Padmavati) is all set to hit theaters on this Republic Day weekend i.e. 25 January 2018. And a good thing is, now it is being released solo as Akshay Kumar has shifted his PadMan to 9 February 2018 on Bhansali’s request.
Because of controversies and delay in getting clearance from CBFC, makers of Padmaavat had to postpone it’s release several times, which caused heavy financial loss to them. Fortunately, the film is still the highly anticipated one and seems fully capable to register one of the best openings of Indian cinema on Thursday.
Before that, Viacom 18 Motion Pictures’ presentation has it’s paid previews in most of the cities of India on 24th January from 6 p.m. onwards. Reportedly, so far Padmaavat has registered fantastic advance booking for it’s opening day and paid previews as well.
The film is positively expected to cross the mark of 100 crores in the 4-days extended opening weekend excluding the business of it’s paid previews. It would be able to witness 60-65% of occupancy across the country on Wednesday and better on Thursday i.e. opening day.
