Superstar Akshay Kumar’s latest offering Padman has become hit though, but unfortunately, it hasn’t got desired response at the box office. Just after the first week, the movie got slowed down and now heading on a low note, while the earlier release Padmaavat is collecting higher numbers.
Because of its strong content and outstanding performances by the lead actors, Padman received very positive reviews from the critics as well as the audience. As a result, it gained good word of mouth but still wasn’t able to divert major audience toward itself.
In the opening week, R.Balki’s directorial started its journey on a decent note and picked up well over the weekend. By remaining steady throughout, it did the business of 62.87 crores that included 40.05 crores of the weekend and 22.82 crores of weekdays.
In the second week, due to several new offerings, Padman recorded a considerable drop of approx. 78% and raked the business of 13.78 crores with 9.03 crores on the weekend and 4.75 crores on weekdays. Now the movie is running in its third week and passed the weekend on a low note.
In the third weekend, the movie bagged the amount of only 2.30 crores that included 0.50 crore of Friday, 0.80 crore of Saturday and 1 crore of Sunday. After 10 days, the total collection of Twinkle Khanna’s debut production was 78.95 crores.
Once again Padman has entered in weekdays and started getting lesser footfalls in theaters than before. On 3rd Monday, it faced a drop of 30% than last Friday and minted the amount of 0.35 crore. With this, its 18 days total collection has become 79.30 crores at the domestic box office.
