Padman 3rd Day Collection, R.Balki’s Film Goes Past 40 Crore by Opening Weekend

Relying on its strong content and the outstanding performances by lead actors, this Friday released PadMan showed superb growth over the weekend after a decent start. Despite having the already-existing biggie Padmaavat in its opposite, superstar Akshay Kumar, Sonam Kapoor, and Radhika Apte starrer got succeed to make its place.

PadMan is inspired by the life of Tamil Nadu based social activist Arunachalam Muruganantham who created low-cost sanitary napkins for the women of rural India. Since the beginning, the film is making buzz among fans as well as the audience, and now after the release everyone showing it a big fat thumbs up.

As per review, Akshay has given one of his best performances so far and played his character with full dedication. Leading ladies Sonam & Radhika also performed superbly well and make the film stronger. Directed R.Balki has executed everything very smartly and deserves huge appreciation.

On the opening-day, being non-masala film PadMan opened to a lower note than earlier expectations but still managed to rake decent numbers. It did the business of 10.26 crores on Friday from 2750 screens across the country, which is Akshay’s 16th highest opening so far.

On the next day i.e. Saturday, due to positive word of mouth, the film showed good growth in footfalls and minted the amount of 13.68 crores. Then on Sunday as well, PadMan remained strong and bagged the business of 16.11 crores. With this, its opening weekend total collection has become 40.05 crores at the domestic box office.

As per current trend and buzz, PadMan seems to remain strong in weekdays as well across urban India.
