Kabir Khan’s directorial second movie of the year Phantom is now facing high drops in its business. The performance it showed in weekend was excellent but in weekdays it is loosing audience abruptly. It is getting positive response from viewers as well as critics but still the business graph of the movie is falling down. As all other movies, Phantom was also expected to face drop of business in weekdays but its dropping rate is too high.
On its first day, the movie was started on an average note but ended the day with decent figure. The positive reviews of critics and moviegoers were created a favorable environment for the movie at box office. Also the movie received complete benefit of Raksha Bandhan holiday and showed high growth on its second day. Phantom ended its first weekend with good figures as compare to previous thriller movies of 2015.
In its first weekend it was done the business of total 33.18 crores that included 8.46 crores of Friday, 12.78 crores of Saturday and 11.94 crores of Sunday. In general cases Sunday always results in highest collection but due to holiday of Raksha Bandhan, Phantom recorded highest business on Saturday and slightly less on Sunday. From Monday, the movie was entered in weekdays and started facing drops in its business. It was minted the amount of 4.40 crores with a decrement of 60% than previous day. On Tuesday also, it witnessed more drop and made the collection of 3.63 crores only.
Till the end of its 5th day, the total collection of Phantom was recorded as 41.21 crores on 2600 Indian screens. Today is its 6th day of release and the movie has minted the amount of around 3.31 crores with a slight drop than Tuesday. Earlier it was expected to cross the mark of 50 crores till the end of its first week, but now it is not looking possible. The movie will take one or more days after a week to touch this mark.
