3rd Day Box Office Report Of Purani Jeans

Purani jeans is an youth centric film directed by Tanushri Chatterji. In the lead roles are Tanuj Virwani, Aditya Seal and Izabelle Leite. The story line is so bad, which could have been easily saved by a decent screenplay and acting. Neither of it happened. Audiences response, too have been cold with no story line to grab the attention. Those breakups and patchy liners made it a disastrous watch. This film even after focusing the youth, had a low star quotient and failed to grab applauds and whistles. Being a big banner production, it came with high hopes just like Yaariyan. But the later, shocked us unexpectedly and emerged as a super hit flick. Purani jeans, with a catchy title could have easily attracted audience, but since the script is too poor, it could do no more than a poor business.

To add on to the misery, it is Amazing Spiderman 2 reigning the theaters. Hollywood movies have always been the catch by the audience especially youth. They have new concepts and brilliant screenplay. While, the case with Purani jeans is not so. The concept of breakups and parting ways is so old. No one would spend a hundred bucks to watch the regular drama on theaters. They could instead switch on their television!

Even the critics have given a heads off to this movie. Not much can be expected from it.

Purani Jeans 1st Weekend Box Office Report

Let us have a look at the 3 days collection for it and the public response (though cold).

Day 1: 1.3 crores collected. Opening was weak with less than 10% occupancy.

Day 2: 1.5 crores collected. A little increase in the income but all in vain. Response by the audience remains cold with no expectations to even cross the mark of 10 crore this weekend.

Day 3: 1.2 crores collected on Sunday. However, a low score on the card with poor collection.

Purani Jeans 1st weekend Total collection turns out to be 4 crores. Better than Kya Dilli Kya Lahore but still poor among the few releases previous week. Purani Jeans, is not expected to do a good business in the coming days. Rather go for Amazing Spider man 2. It has some surprises waiting for you.
