A couple of weeks back released Race 3 has badly got failed to impress viewers with its lame content but still due to the solid star power of superstar Salman Khan it has become the second highest grossing Hindi movie of the year so far at the domestic box office after Padmaavat (302.15 crores).
Directed by Remo D’souza, Race 3 has received mixed reviews from the critics as well as the audience because of weak direction and story-line. Despite having Salman Khan on board and the recall value of a popular franchise, the director got failed to hit the target right.
After almost an excellent opening week, the third installment of the franchise Race passed the second weekend on a lower note than expected. It did the business of 16.25 crores that included 3.75 crores on 2nd Friday, 5.50 crores on 2nd Saturday, and 7 crores on 2nd Sunday.
Then on weekdays, as usual, Race 3 witnessed further drops and minted the amount of 2.50 crores on 2nd Monday, 2.25 crores on 2nd Tuesday, and 2 crores on 2nd Wednesday. On the next day i.e. 2nd Thursday, Race 3 collected 1.75 crores and raised its 2 weeks total collection to 169.26 crores, including 144.51 crores of the first week.
Being the highly awaited movie of the year, Salman Khan starrer took a tremendous start pre-Eid. By remaining super strong throughout the opening weekend, it minted 106.47 crores and 38.04 crores on weekdays after an abrupt drop in footfalls.
